Getting Started-ePortfolio

When I first learned I would have to create an ePortfolio, I was excited to be able to create a platform where I was able to showcase my work and allow others to interact and collaborate about learning. Little did I know, there were challenges that would come with the territory. I was fortunate enough to have a collaborative group of my peers who helped me navigate the best option for my ePortfolio platform.

Before transferring my information to an ePortfolio platform,I completed all of my assignments on Google Docs. By doing so, it provided me with security in knowing that while I was figuring out how to navigate the site, I would still preserve all of the contempt that went into it. My first attempt at creating a site was an epic failure. I purchased a subscription to Bluehost using WordPress and still to this day have been unable to comprehend how to use the site. After conversing with my classroom, ates and listening to their struggles and suggestions, I attempted again using Wix. Not only was the site free, but it was satisfyingly easy to navigate and customize.

I would suggest Wix to anyone starting out and encourage them to use their collaborative groups and networking for encouragement, motivation, and resources. In addition, video tutorials can also assist when you find yourself overwhelmed with tasks or stuck. The tasks that used to frustrate, I now see as opportunities for growth. I seek help from peers and am extremely proud of how I have allowed my mindset to shift and continue to foster the mindset I desire for my students to have.
